IMovie

Imovie has made its way from the Mac Desktop to IOS and as of June 2014 it comes free with all Iphones and Ipads. Its pretty user friendly and makes it easy to splice together pieces of footage but it also gives you the ability to add music, titles, photos and even a voiceover. This is a pretty powerful piece of kit that you can get for free so make use of it. Only drawback is this is app is purely for Apple users.

PowerDirector

This is pretty much Imovie for Android users. Boasting some of the same features you can trim videos, add titles and they give you a decent bunch of transitions to get your creative juices flowing. However this app does come with a watermark but if you want to get rid of it then its a one off payment of £2.99. Otherwise it’s completely free to use.

Quik

Quik

Just as this apps name suggests this is the quickest way to make a video. Just choose your clips and pick a theme and your done. You can then upload your video onto your social media platforms.

There is the ability to make tweaks to fonts, filters and trims but this app is primarily for taking a bunch of clips and making a decent looking promotional video for your business with as little in depth editing as possible.

It also has a really nifty feature where it will take your weeks videos and make it into a video for you. Available for IOS and Android.

Splice

Splice

Splice offers loads of features and the first question you might ask yourself is “Does this cost money?” There are no watermarks or adverts stuck on at the end of your video and it gives you the power to trim, add text, add filters, add music and even voice overs all for free. If we have one small complaint about this app it's the workspace doesn't leave massive amounts of room for experimenting with your composition but otherwise this app is perfect for quickly editing videos on the move. Only available on IOS

Adobe Premiere Clip

Adobe Premiere Clip

Adobe have a released a multitude of Apps based on their popular and ever growing desktop based programs. They are well worth checking out. Adobe Premiere Clip allows you to arrange clips and export to your social media channels. It's built for speed and lacks many of the features other apps on this list have but it is still worth using to  see if it fits in with your style of video making. Available on IOS and Android.
